The dam is partially up as the Mississippi Queen goes
up over the pass (the pass is the space between the wickets shown
in the photo and the concrete pier on the Illinois side
of the river).
She is being helped by a small towboat at her side to
get over the one foot hump of water created by
underwater concrete structures of the dam (called the
sill).
The Mississippi Queen is up over the pass and above the
dam on the Ohio River.
