Members of District 1
met on Tuesday, March 8, at Miss Scarlett’s in Gilbertsville, KY to organize a steering committee for next year’s state NARFE convention. The convention will be held at the Executive Inn in Paducah, KY in 2006 and District 1 will host the annual event.
District 1 Vice President Joe Horcher and area NARFE members discussed assignments for organizing the convention and the group plans to meet again following the Spring Sprint the third week of April at Miss Scarlett’s.

Federation Convention Steering Committee will be
Monday, 9 January 2006, 10:00
am at the Executive Inn in Paducah, Ky. Since I'm not certain
which room we'll be using, please assemble at or near the Reservations
Desk in the hotel.
This will be one of our more important meetings. From
this point on, the real work begins, and this meeting must establish and
clarify the basic responsibilities and deadlines for the various committees
as well as the necessary coordination between committees.
In addition, we will be firming up our budget requirements.
It is essential, therefore, that all Steering Committee
members attend and that every chapter have at least one representative
at the meeting. If you can't make it, please, ask, coax, beg, bribe or
strong-arm a member of your chapter to represent you. It's important. This
is a big job; the more volunteer (that nasty word again!) help we get,
the easier it will be.
