Representing the Kentucky Federation of Chapters were Federation President
Noreene Morgan and Federation Secretary Jan Celella. Noreene spoke
to the assembled members and guests on membership, and the opportunities
for retention and the addition of new members. She also reminded
everyone of the 2012 National Convention that is scheduled for the last
week in August of 2012. She encouraged everyone to attend not only
the national convention but also the 2012 state convention that is being
hosted by the chapters of District I.
The state convention will be held in Hopkinsville, KY April 10-12,
2012 at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
Featured speaker for the event was Warren Beeler of the Kentucky Department
of Agriculture.
He presented a program entitled “Not just your other white meat anymore!”
on the pig industry in the state.
Awards were given to (Left to Right)
Imogene Herndon, Murray Chapter 853, oldest female present;
Wanda Lynch, Hopkinsville Chapter 1262, youngest female present;
Barry Gilbert, Crittenden County Chapter 1373, youngest male present;
and
Clem Szymanski, Marshall County Chapter 1587, oldest male present.
Joe Horcher, District 1 DVP, Marshall County Chapter 1587,
presented a check to Tom Diaz, President of Crittenden County Chapter
1373,
for the chapter with the highest percentage of members present.
Mickey Horcher, Secretary of Marshall County Chapter 1587,
presented a check to Joe Horcher, District 1 DVP and President of the
Marshall County Chapter 1587,
for the chapter with the most members present.
Susan Horn, Kentucky Federal Employee Program Representative of Anthem
Blue Cross/Blue Shield
presented a program on FEHBP Open Season Changes. Following her
presentation, a lively Q&A session took place.
